Johannesburg, GALXBOY has officially expanded its fashion footprint with the launch of its first ever sneaker collection, marking a significant new chapter for the homegrown streetwear label. Titled “From Street to Sole,” the debut drop introduces two silhouettes: the GBX 012 Trainer and the GBX 012 Runner.
The move into footwear has been years in the making, with the brand focused on creating a range that authentically represents its identity, rooted in South African heritage while designed to compete on a global stage. To bring that vision to life, GALXBOY partnered with UK based footwear designer Andrew Turner, whose international experience helped refine the technical and aesthetic direction of the project.
Founder Thatiso Dube described the collaboration as a natural alignment, aimed at producing sneakers that balance culture, craftsmanship and innovation.
The GBX 012 Trainer (Cupsole) delivers a clean, elevated look through seamless panel construction and premium detailing, offering a bold yet wearable everyday option. Meanwhile, the GBX 012 Runner introduces a more performance-inspired edge, featuring a streamlined midsole and reinforced heel construction designed for durability and comfort.
Together, the two silhouettes signal GALXBOY’s evolution from a streetwear favourite to a broader lifestyle brand. The collection is now available at stores nationwide and online, with more collaborations and product expansions expected as the brand looks ahead to an ambitious year.
