Registration is officially open for FAME Week Africa 2026, set to take place from 28 October to 1 November 2026 in Cape Town.
Hosted by the City of Cape Town, the event stands as Africa’s leading marketplace for the creative and cultural industries, bringing together filmmakers, musicians, fashion creatives, distributors, investors, and global decision-makers under one platform.
Following the momentum of its 2025 edition, which highlighted the shift toward stronger business models and global competitiveness in Africa’s creative sector, FAME Week Africa 2026 continues to position the continent as a central player in the global creative economy. The focus remains on connecting talent with opportunity and turning ideas into scalable industry partnerships.
Organisers describe the event as a key meeting point where African content and talent meet international markets. It is also where collaborations are formed between studios, platforms, and creatives across film, television, music, and fashion.
A platform built for industry growth
FAME Week Africa is structured around four major pillars designed to support different parts of the creative value chain:
MIP Africa – A B2B marketplace focused on co-production, distribution, and content sales
Muziki Africa – A space for artists, labels, and industry professionals to connect and collaborate
African Fashion Forum – Bridging fashion with film, television, and music industries
FAME Shorts Film Festival – Showcasing bold storytelling from emerging and established filmmakers
Together, these platforms aim to support the movement of African stories from development to global audiences.
France announced as 2026 Destination Focus
A major highlight for 2026 is the announcement of France as the official Destination Focus. This initiative is designed to deepen cultural and commercial ties between African creatives and the French creative industry.
It will create a dedicated space for French producers, distributors, institutions, and investors to engage directly with African partners, opening pathways for co-productions, funding opportunities, and international distribution.
French Ambassador to South Africa, David Martinon, described the partnership as a shared commitment to strengthening long-term creative exchange between Africa and Europe.
Why pre-register
Pre-registration gives industry professionals early access to programme updates, curated matchmaking tools, and the ability to schedule meetings ahead of the event. It is designed to help attendees maximise networking and business opportunities during the week.
At its core, FAME Week Africa continues to position itself as more than an event, it is a working marketplace for Africa’s creative future, where stories, talent, and business intersect on a global scale.
