Cape Town, South Africa, Mahindra is back and this time, they’re doing it for the culture. The Mahindra Fusion Fest 2026 Build-Up officially kicked off at the University of Cape Town, bringing together over 3 000 students, creators, and culture shakers for an unforgettable launch.
Hosted by Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena, the event was a full-on creative explosion, a fusion of music, fashion, and art that gave UCT a vibrant first taste of what’s coming next year. Rising star Zee Nxumalo lit up the stage, while media personalities like Kelly Kikx, Kyeezi, Ryle Rene De Morny, Neevan Ferris, Thabiet Amardien, Lucian Albertyn, and Missy Roberts pulled up to experience the vibe.
Art installations, fashion activations, games, prizes, and the all-new Mahindra XUV 3XO test drive challenge kept the energy flowing, turning the UCT campus into a mini-festival of creativity.
After the success of Fusion Fest 2025, which drew over 7 000 fans, Mahindra Fusion Fest 2026 is taking things to a whole new level with a nationwide roadshow and talent search that celebrates South Africa’s creative pulse.
The brand will be hitting Cape Town, Durban, and other major cities to spotlight local creativity through The Build-Up Tour; a series of activations leading to the main festival on 7 March 2026.
“The growth of the Mahindra Fusion Fest is a reflection of our deepening connection with South Africans through culture, creativity and community,” said Rajesh Gupta, Mahindra South Africa CEO.
Mahindra is opening the stage to new voices and fresh ideas through three creative challenges, each offering a R30 000 prize and a chance to feature at the main event.
Unsigned artists can submit original tracks inspired by the theme of fusion, blending genres, sounds, and cultures. Zee Nxumalo and a panel of music experts will select the ultimate winner.
Young designers are invited to submit up to four sketches that capture their interpretation of fusion, from fabric to story. Finalists will gain industry recognition and exposure.
Emerging visual artists can submit their work, from illustration to mixed media; showing what fusion means to them. Selected works will be featured and celebrated on the Fusion Fest stage.
Submissions are open now via @MahindraSouthAfrica on Instagram, Facebook, and X.
The Mahindra 3XO Test Drive Challenge is also part of the build-up, giving fans the chance to get behind the wheel of the all-new Mahindra XUV 3XO and win VIP tickets, merch, and a weekend getaway experience.
From campus takeovers to national talent hunts, Mahindra is bringing art, music, and style to the streets, all leading up to South Africa’s boldest celebration of creativity.
